Enjoy Nutra-Fig’s Black Mission figs, hand sorted and packed into circular trays and bags. This traditional method of packing dried fruit is often included in gift baskets during the holiday season. These gluten-free figs were grown in the Central Valley of California and hand-packed in our plant in sunny Fresno.

Black Mission Figs

The most popular commercial fig variety, Mission Figs, or Black Mission Figs, originated in the Mediterranean region. They may have been first cultivated in Spain because they first appeared in California when Franciscan Missionaries brought them from that country. In fact, Mission figs were once also called Franciscana Figs. The Missionaries are the source of this fig’s name – the Mission.

OUR BLACK MISSION FIGS - Our black dried figs are California-grown figs but originate from the Mediterranean region. Our dried mission figs are hand-packed, and the 8 oz dried fruit bags are great for on the go!

NO ADDED SUGAR - Our Californian figs have no added sugar, no sodium, and no cholesterol, making for a delicious, healthy snack. Dried figs are nutrient-dense with 244 mg of Potassium and 6 grams of protein per serving.

HIGH FIBER SNACK - Our dried fruit figs are vegan, kosher, gluten-free, and make a great high-fiber snack. A serving of our high-fiber figs contains more than 20% of the daily value of fiber, and 28% of that fiber is soluble, which helps support digestion.

NATURAL SUGARING PROCESS - Our figs may go through a natural process called sugaring as they age. Natural sugars from inside seep through and crystallize on the skin of the fruit. Sugared figs are still delicious and provide natural sweetness! To remove the sugaring, rinse lightly in warm water or cook in a pan over light heat to create a glaze.
